research program

Bringing knowledge and technology together for a new direction in restoration ecology.

Restoration & Conservation Genomics

Investigating fundamental questions about how plants respond and adapt to global change using new genomic techniques. With these data, we can work with practitioners on the best strategies for restoring and maintaining healthy ecosystems that are resilient to change.

restoring Functional diversity

A functional gap has been identified in restoration, between reference ecosystems and their restored counterparts. This has been attributed in part to land clearance, which severs the links within an ecosystem. Our research is aimed at restoring these ties.

urban environments & our health

Exploring the link between restoration and ecosystem health, the environmental microbiome and the how this affects the human microbiome and human health.

Can healthier urban ecosystems make us healthier people?
